Women are angry - Jennifer Cox
What’s in it
Women are ANGRY. That’s what Jennifer Cox says. And she should know. She works as a therapist with LOTS of women, who come in with all sorts of complaints, disorders or diseases, which all - in the end - relate back to ANGER.
Anger, she says, is closely related to depression. Anger causes inflammation inside your body. Quite literally CAUSING issues inside your body.
Anger that should be directed OUTWARD are directed INWARD instead.
In the book she describes how - from even BEFORE we are born - women and girls are conditioned, programmed, manipulated, taught on how to be and what to do.
In a journey from early childhood to old age, she tells us WHY women are angry. And boy, there’s a LOT to be angry ABOUT.
But - crucially - she tells us also about how to get RID of that anger. Because it’s hurting us. Literally.
Why I like it
I wanted to read it as soon as I saw the title. My personal journey with anger has been - still IS - a painful one. You can read more about it in this LinkedIn post.
So the reference to inflammation? The warning that anger can HURT you when stored up inside of you?
One of the MANY warnings I’ve had over the years.
I LOVED reading the stories of her clients, many of which will sound familiar to you. I loved the take on how to get rid of anger.
My only remaining question? Who ISN’t angry? And if not, why not?
